1. NOT YOUR RUN-OF-THE-MILL DOG ART
A beagle being led around by a super-sized snout? A sleeping
dog head cradled by the opened pages of a newspaper. These
aren't images you'd normally find in dog illustrations. And that's
exactly why award-winning U.S. artist Greg Dearth attracts the
howling praise of dog lovers everywhere. Now his talent for
quirky, yet realistic dog illustrations can be enjoyed right in
the homes of dog people. A set of three Dearth art prints has
just been released to the market by Two Dog Press. A
percentage of all sales benefits dog charities.

2. NATIONAL HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND CONFERENCE OPEN TO PUBLIC
Topics ranging from how dogs detect seizures to critters in
prisons and the human-animal bond during a crisis situation
are a few of the many topics on the agenda for a two day national
Delta Society conference Oct 30 and 31, 1999, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The general public is invited to register now for the Society's
18th annual conference, which has attracted major pet food companies
and organizations as sponsors, as well as leading experts in the
field of human-animal interactons as speakers. The Society
is located in the Seattle area, with an office also in New York.

3. PET SAFETY RISK ASSESSMENT AND VOICE MAIL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM
FOR PETS ALL AT ONE DOT COM
Just how safe is your pet? By answering a few questions at the
Pet Safety Center web site -- http://www.familysafety.com -- you can
immediately have an assessment done through the use of a newly
installed script at the site. If that doesn't intrigue, then
journalists might want to order a free product sample of the Finder
System, the world's only voice mail ID for pets. It's available for
media reviews. Pet owners have been lining up on the internet
highway to take the risk assessment and order the Voice
Mail ID.

4. NEW STUDY LOOKING AT IMPACT OF DOGS IN THERAPY PROGRAMS WITH
AUTISTIC CHILDREN
Can a pooch help in therapy with autistic children? Or is a stuffed
animal or ball just as effective? Scientists at Washington State
University hope to find out as they embark on a recently funded
study on animal-assisted therapy and autistic children.
